Mission & Vision

Our Mission

The Family Community Life Center is a community-based non-profit that was incorporated in March of 1988. The Family Community Life Center, Inc. (FCLC)’s mission is to transform families and build community by lifting underserved families in Riverhead and neighboring districts out of poverty.

Our Vision

FCLC envisions a more equitable community where all families, including underserved families of color, can thrive. It is our goal to pour richness, diversity, and inclusion into the community, enriching the lives of those involved. FCLC, in contract with Georgica Green Ventures, LLC is building a mixed use, transit-oriented Community Benefit District complex (Northville Commons) on 12.5 acres of property owned by the First Baptist Church of Riverhead. The complex will include a 10,000 sq. ft. community center building and eighty critically needed affordable rental and equity housing units for working families.

The completed complex will enable FCLC to expand supportive programs across several family stability pillars: Workforce and Career Development, Children’s and Youth services, including daycare and after school programs, Senior services, including Social model Adult Day Care and Aging in Place resource referrals & supports, Health & Wellness, including sports, recreation, and mental health supportive programs such as Caregiver Support, Community Education, and Advocacy services. This new paradigm for program service delivery will help build stronger families and a greater sense of community among residents in Riverhead and neighboring districts. FCLC’s facilities, including its gymnasium and fitness center will be open to the public and available for year-round use. In Phase II, FCLC will add a 15,000 sq. ft. sports dome to provide an indoor track and multi-sport practice space.

The Family Community Life Center at Northville Commons will address documented needs of the East End region by creating a hub where families can come together to live, learn, work, and play.
