Dr. Butts is President of the SUNY College at Old Westbury and Senior Pastor of the nationally renowned Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, New York. A highly acclaimed leader in academic, religious and social circles, Dr. Butts has received innumerable honors and commendations for his efforts and community activism. He has had a pervasive impact on a wide range of issues and concerns, including education, homelessness, senior citizen and youth empowerment, cultural awareness and ecumenical outreach. Dr. Butts embodies the broad reach and inclusive world view talked about by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
